The recipient of the Crystal Heart Achievement Award has dedicated their life to the care of the cardiovascular surgical patient. They have innovated and advanced the practice of cardiovascular surgery as well as extracorporeal technologies. The reputation of the recipient as a clinician, researcher, and teacher is above reproach. All the recipients have conducted themselves with humility, compassion, and recognized all those who have supported them in their journey to success. It is for these reasons that Perfusion International and the planning committee of The New Orleans Conference hereby award the 2018 Crystal Heart Lifetime Achievement Award to Tirone David, MD.
